Measuring success to maximise impact.
Poverty, crime and unemployment continue to plague even the wealthiest of societies. But, what is needed to attract additional support and clarify impact? How do charities or non-profit organisations demonstrate value? How can rigorous data analysis and board governance help the social sector maximise its impact on society?
As the boundaries blur between the private and social sector, the London campus is delighted to host for the first time the Chicago Booth Rustandy Center for Social Sector Innovation. Newly renamed this year following a gift from alumnus Tandean Rustandy '07, the Center serves as the school's destination for people committed to helping solve complex social and environmental problems.
Joined by Pro Bono Economics, a UK organisation that helps charities measure their social impact, and one of the non-profits it supports, the British Science Association, our panel discussion will reveal the secrets to building strong social sector enterprises and the investment opportunity they present.
Moderated by Robert H. Gertner, John Edwardson Faculty Director of the Rustandy Center and Joel F. Gemunder Professor of Strategy at Chicago Booth, the panel will include:
- Julia Grant, CEO of Pro Bono Economics
- Katherine Mathieson, Chief Executive of the British Science Association
- Marianne Bertrand, Faculty Co-Director of the Rustandy Center and Chris P. Dialynas Distinguished Service Professor of Economics at Chicago Booth
19:00 Panel discussion
20:00 Networking & drinks reception
