Event Details

A note from the host, CBWN Detroit City Ambassador, Laura Jean Kempf '04:

It was so invigorating to attend the Booth Women Connect conference held in October. As I walked into the Hyatt Regency Hotel, all the excitement of attending Booth years long ago rushed back. It was my first time at the conference and as expected, the conference hosted a fantastic mix of impactful speakers and insightful breakout sessions. Sallie Krawcheck inspired me to think about doing more with her discussion on "Embracing the F- Word: Failure" and it was interesting to attend a breakout session from a professor I had during my years at Booth. Tanya Menon discussed interesting insights in her session entitled, "You are a threat – own it!"

I had wondered why I had waited so long. A career and two kids later, "too busy" seemed to be my default excuse, but no more. I have a 12 year old daughter that I have to look back at and say I did more to improve the situation women have today.

As your Detroit city Ambassador to Booth Women, I would like to invite you to connect with fellow Booth women in the area for the Booth Women Winter Tea event. Please note the details and join me.

I look forward to seeing you!
Laura
